Community Groups

Here at BBC we believe that rich, biblical community is essential for strong spiritual growth. In order to grow deeper in our relationships together, this Fall we are launching Community Groups.

Community Groups will replace our traditional Wednesday Night Service. We will begin with five new Community Groups, each meeting on a different night of the week.

PURPOSE:

To build rich biblical community by gathering regularly together in a home in order to find persevering grace in the family of faith God has given us.

STARTING:

Beginning the week of October 13-19.

FAQs:

WHY ARE WE STARTING COMMUNITY GROUPS?
We believe that rich, biblical community is essential for our spiritual well-being. God has not created us to be alone. While we have never intentionally neglected our need for deep community, often we don’t prioritize it. Community Groups is our church’s way of putting biblical community back in the forefront of our church’s life.

WHY SHOULD I JOIN A COMMUNITY GROUP?
Because life is too hard, sin is too alluring, and individually we are too weak to walk this Christian life all alone. We need each other. God has designed us to live in community.

HOW LONG DOES A COMMUNITY GROUP GATHERING LAST?
A typical Community Group gathering will last between one-and-a-half and two hours.

ARE CHILDREN WELCOME AT COMMUNITY GROUPS?
Yes. We want to share our lives together and that certainly includes are families! Our kids will eat with us, possibly pray with us, and then head off to another part of the house for the Bible Study where they will be watched by at least two unrelated group members.

While every Community Groups will welcome children, two of our groups (because of the life stage of the discussion leader) are very child friendly. If you have small kids you may consider joining either the Runyan Community Group or the Hubbard Community Group.

WHAT WILL WE DO DURING A TYPICAL GATHERING?
We will begin by eating a shared meal together. Following the meal and fellowship, we will share our lives by praying for each other. We will end the evening by revisiting the Scripture passage from Sunday morning, seeking to apply it to our lives.

I AM A GUEST OR REGULAR ATTENDER AT BBC; CAN I COME TO A GROUP?
Yes! You are welcome to join us for this time of fellowship. We hope you'll find it encouraging and a great way to get to know us..
