Pastor – Justin Runyan
Justin came to pastor BBC in April 2009. Justin has a passion for God and His Word. He is also extremely excited about global missions and BBC’s growing desire to reach the unreached with the gospel of Christ. Originally from Lebanon, Ohio, Justin and his wife Lauren are excited to now call Maryland home.
Justin graduated from Taylor University in Upland, Indiana with a B.A. in Biblical Studies in 2004. Following his graduation, he began studying at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, graduating with his Masters of Divinity in 2008. Justin has been in ministry since 2002 in churches throughout Indiana and Kentucky.
Justin and Lauren were married in 2005. They have four beautiful children: Luke, Audra, Caleb, and Malia.
Justin loves to read and write. He is a devoted Ohio State football fan. Justin also enjoys working out and is trying to stay in shape now that he is in his 30s.
Worship Ministry Leader - Ben Hart
Ben joined BBC in July 2015. Ben grew up locally in north Laurel, Maryland attending Forcey Bible Church. Ben has an AssociatesDegree in General Studies (Howard Community College) and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Christian Ministry with emphases in Worship Leadership and Adolescent Studies (Briercrest College and Seminary). At the end of the summer, Ben will marry his “middle school sweetheart” – Tiffany – and begin a family together.
Ben grew up in a Christian family, learning the basics of the gospel and putting his faith in Christ from an early age. While attending a large youth conference in 2003, Ben came to understand “the magnitude of Christ’s sacrifice on my behalf.” It was then that the gospel became more personal and powerful to him. Since then, Ben has chosen to use the gifts God’s given him, specifically music, to glorify Him.
Ben enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching movies, traveling, and the playing the occasional video game. Ben also enjoys the outdoors, specifically when he is near water. In addition to his music abilities, Ben also enjoys acting and has done so on stage and on film.
Administrative Assistant - Sue Lee
Sue began working at BBC in March 2011 to assist her husband who was focusing on writing. She has been married to Jae, a pastor, for 15 years. She has 6 wonderful children: Simeon, Hope, Jonah, Isaac, Elijah and Moses. She has a passion for family ministry and helping people with weight loss.
Sue came to the U.S. in 1987 and lived in Virginia until she got married and moved to Maryland. Sue is a graduate of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. She has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She has not worked as a nurse in a while but gets to practice nursing unofficially, especially at home. Burtonsville has been home for 14 years and she loves her 5 minute commute to BBC and working in a Christian environment.
Sue loves playing volleyball, bowling, reading, watching movies and playing with her kids.
